Detail of mane.

When Mum first saw this on my drawing board it took her awhile to figure out what it is! I hope you can guess quicker than her!

I drew it in graphite on a large A2 piece of paper. I drew on my imagination and refreshed my memory of ear angles and so on from a big book of horse photos. I wanted to do something that focused on the mane and the texture and flow of it. It is still a bit rough and I made a mess of the top left corner. If I finish it off I'll frame it as I have an old frame that fits it perfectly.

I did have a bit of trouble trying to photograph it. Being so big it was hard to keep the light on it even. I'll need to work on my photography skills!

Something Exciting is about to Happen!

     Here is a drawing I did of my beautiful pregnant sister. She's due in a week or so! Very exciting! =)

I did this in an afternoon when I thought I was too busy to do anything else. It is one of those drawings I suddenly get inspired to do and sit down and do it then and there. Those sort of pictures usually work out best don't you think.

I will learn to draw babies when Hosanna Hope is born!
